Welcome to Day 6! We are working my favorite body part today our LEGS! So let’s get focused and ready to sweat out each and every rep. I hope your workouts have been good and you are making those muscles
Is there av substitute for the vertical press. The machine at my gym has a break on it so it falls forward every time I start pressing up. Basically it just didn’t work for me. Thanks for the help and love the workouts
Vonnie!! HI so good to hear from you. Instead of doing the vertical press you can do stiff leg dead lifts or step up with/without dumbbells in each hand. I hope this helps and so happy you love the workouts!!
Hi Shannon! I never really post comments but wanted to let you know I’m currently on this program and love it! It’s very encouraging to walk in the gym with a “map” of what I will be working out that day and can also plan ahead. Thanks so much for creating these workouts. You have no idea how helpful they are! I was also wondering what you do as a warm up and for how long? I really like that you post your 45 min cardio routine for afterwards. Thanks again! 🙂
Yesi! How are you, and so happy you are enjoying the workouts! The only real “warm up ” I do is when I am getting ready to do my first set of whatever body part I am working that day, I do a quick 20-30 reps using a light weight to get my blood flowing. I am usually on a strict time line since I go to the gym at 4:30am before work, so I don’t spend a lot of time on warm up. If you have the time and want to do a quick 10 minutes of cardio that is a great way to get your body moving and blood flowing. I do stretch the muscle(s) group I am working in between each set. I hope this answers your question and thank you for writing in and sharing your sweet comments. Keep up the hard work!! Shannon 🙂
Ardei! Hi, thanks for you comment and I understand you feel that way. We all have what we believe works, is safe to do and of course, proper form and function is always important, which I know you understand. Thank you for your comment, I will keep that in mind, but believe they are safe.
I am totally new to weight lifting and have really been enjoying this fit challenge. I never really knew how and what to do with the machines so this had been a huge help! The question I have is, people have told me that if you want to tone up I should do more sets with lighter weight but to bulk up to do heavier weight with less reps, like you do. Is this the case? Thank you!
Hi, I use the brand Dymatize and the product is call Pursuit. If you are happy with yours keep using it, I like the pursuit because it doesn’t make me jittery or my heart race, but gives me a little “pep” to get me going.
Hi Shannon, i’m currently trying this challange – loving it so far! I just started going to the gym recently, so i feel very intimidated by the free weights/cable machines as thats where all the body builders usually are. Any advice? I seem to get in the way quite often since everyone “claims machines”.
I totally understand, but you have to remember you have every right to be using all the equipment they are, so stand your ground and do your thing!!! We all have to start somewhere, and all those who are making you feel “in the way” started out too. I just go into the gym, put my head down and do my thing. If someone needs what I am using, they CAN WAIT!! No one owns anything in the gym, so you get in there and don’t let anyone push you around!!!
If you go to the website and click on store you can purchase the Warrior Shred Program that you are able to download, no ads. It is similar to the 8 week program and I love it.
Thank you so much. I have started the 8 week and love it but certain days that I click on don’t show any workouts. Almost like they were deleted or not downloading. Thanks again. My husband and I love getting workout ideas from you. I love that we found you because you have workouts that both he and I enjoy doing together.

Thanks Shannon! I was SUPER excited to receive your response. Thanks for taking the time to do so. 🙂

Hey there ! I am having a hard time find day 7 , does this happen to be a rest day ? Thanks !!
Chastiti,
Hi, yes it is a rest day, so you can either take it off completely, or do cardio only, no weights.
Shannon 🙂
What is the best was to get all of these workouts for the 8 week program? There are a lot of adds on the site so I get confused. Thanks in advance!
