For all you seafood lovers out there or soon to be, these Sesame Crusted Scallops are fit-fabulous, not to mention so simple to make. Scallops are a wonderful source of protein and go well with so many different things. They can be boiled, fried, baked, wrapped in bacon, dipped in garlic butter and the list goes on. From start to finish, these Sesame Crusted Scallops were a snap to put together. No one will know you spent less then 20 minutes preparing them. I served them on there own drizzled in a warm sweet and savory teriyaki marinade topped with fresh green onion. They sear up so nicely with the sesame seeds it puts just the right amount of texture to the outside of the scallop.

Sesame Crusted Scallops make a perfect appetizer or side to a seafood lunch or dinner. They are light and satisfying. Scallops are a mild seafood so there will not be any harsh “fishy” flavor and on their own, scallops have a delicate sweet flavor. Even if you are not a fan of seafood I would venture to say these Sesame Crusted Scallops will be a little bite of heaven to your tastebuds. xoxo

  3. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large nonstick skillet over meduim-high heat. Add half of the scallops to pan and cook 3 minutes on each side.
  4. Remove scallops from pan, but keep pan warm, and repeat cooking procedure with remaining scallops.
  5. While scallop cook, combine teriyaki marinade, mirin, and 1-1/2 tablespoon water in pan and stir with a whisk, cook for 1 minute.
  6. Spoon sauce over scallops and sprinkle with green onions. Enjoy!
